Ultra SA 2023 – My Unforgettable Journey

Share

Hey there, fellow Ultranauts, it’s just Chanzel here…

I’m about to whisk you away on an unforgettable journey through the electrifying beats and mesmerizing moments of my very first Ultra SA 2023 experience.

Picture this: over 40,000 souls gathered in a kaleidoscope of energy, dancing together in perfect sync, united by one thing—the music. Ultra SA wasn’t just a festival; it was a collective cosmic journey that felt like stepping into the Ultra heavens.

From the get-go, I knew this experience had to be top-notch, so I grabbed a VIP ticket. And let me tell you, it was the key to unlocking an unparalleled experience. Skip the lines, have your own exclusive section with couches and tables, and best of all, surprise platters circulating around the VIP area—samosas, spring rolls, and mini pies? Yes, please! Needless to say, I’ve already snagged my VIP pass for Ultra SA 2024.

Now, onto the music—my techno-loving soul found its sanctuary at the Resistance stage. The pulsating rhythms, combined with the hypnotic lights and visuals, kept me spellbound. Joris Voorn, Oliver Heldens, and Timmy Trumpet—these maestros delivered sets that transcended mere music; they were an experience in themselves

And oh, the visuals! The main stage was an epic canvas with massive screens pulsating in sync with the beats. The Resistance stage, nestled in the darkness, mirrored the music’s mood perfectly. Ultra SA was a celebration of freedom—freedom to express oneself through fashion. Neon colours, wings, hats, and my 1-meter-long braids—we all wore our individuality proudly. But beyond the beats and the visuals, Ultra SA was about the people.

Strangers became friends, and friends became family, all connected by our love for music. I met amazing souls who had crossed oceans just to revel in the Ultra experience. The music, a universal language, was our glue.

The festival was a visual and culinary feast. Food vendors dished out everything from burgers to doughnuts, and the never-ending bar kept our spirits high. The layout was cleverly designed—no matter where you were, there was a bar or food stall within arm’s reach.

As night descended, the festival transformed into a magical realm. The daytime chill vibes shifted, and the night awakened our dance souls. Goldfish’s performance at sunset struck a chord deep within me. Their track, “Forever Free,” accompanied by the setting sun, stirred emotions I never knew I had.

But amidst the euphoria, safety was a top priority. Ultra had safety measures in place—a noticeable presence of security and a cashless system using wristbands, ensuring a worry-free experience.

The sponsors—Smirnoff Storm, Standard Bank, and Jagermeister—added their magic to the event. Ultra’s marketing game was on point, keeping us informed and excited. As a content creator for them this year, I can say their engagement with content creators and ambassadors was a definite plus!

What struck me most was the fusion of international headliners with local talent, paying homage to homegrown artists. Aidin Caye, Jordan Arts, Lemon and Herb, son of Dennis, and Abby Nurock—these local heroes brought their A-game to the stage.

Ultra SA left an indelible mark on my soul. It wasn’t just a festival; it was a sanctuary of good vibes and pure bliss. And guess what? I’ve already secured my ticket for Ultra SA 2024, and I’m eyeing other Ultra festivals across the globe—Miami, Abu Dhabi, and Brazil, here I come!

My advice for future Ultra adventurers? Comfortable shoes, hydration, and an open mind are key! Embrace the moments, cherish the beats, and dance like there’s no tomorrow because Ultra SA is a magical journey waiting to be experienced.

And so, my fellow festival adventurers, as the beats faded and the lights dimmed, Ultra SA 2023 left an imprint on my heart that time won’t erase. It wasn’t just about the music—it was a symphony of connections, a canvas for self-expression, and a sanctuary of unforgettable moments.

As I reflect on the magical night, the vibrant community, and the pulsating rhythms that united us all, I’m reminded that Ultra SA wasn’t just an event; it was a state of mind. A reminder to embrace every beat, celebrate every connection, and dance through life with open arms.

Until we meet again amidst the neon lights and electrifying vibes, here’s to living life in the BPM of our hearts. Keep dancing, keep connecting, and keep embracing the extraordinary in every moment.

Stay tuned for more adventures, more beats, and more stories that define the music of our lives, and let me know – will I be seeing you at Ultra SA 2024 ?
